How different is it being a CNA to work in a retirement home than a nursing home?
I have worked as a CNA for nursing homes and was wondering if they carry the same job description and if not, what is the difference. I do not want to work in a nursing home again and I was wondering if it was any different?

- The clients will likely remember your name in the retirement home, there will be less drooling
- there's no big difference honestly.
- Other than the name, there is no difference. Different places/regions/companies call their facilities different names. I work for a skilled nursing facility that called itself a "living center". Facilities often have different units where resident are separated according to level of function. You could always request a certain unit if you prefer to work with higher functioning patients.
